Our history:

In the early 1960s, the construction of a modern Liepaja hotel began in the city centre, on the site of the pre-war municipal building. The hotel opened on 15 January 1966 and was popular with high-ranking Communist Party officials, but city residents were not allowed to stay there. After Latvia regained independence in 1991, the hotel’s management changed and for the next nine years the hotel was a municipal enterprise. In 1999 the hotel was privatised by AS “Līvas viesnīca” and in 2000 the reconstruction of the hotel began without interrupting its operations. The hotel provides accommodation in 115 rooms in Liepaja, it is still the largest hotel in Liepaja and one of the largest in Courland. For more than 50 years, Līva Hotel has become a symbol of the city, preserving its tradition of excellent hospitality. The name of the hotel is reminiscent of the old fishing village that existed 800 years ago, and the name of the “Upe” restaurant creates a link with the ancient village of Līva on the Līva River.
